Living in America, it’s easy to lose perspective. We’re such a big country that we stop thinking about being part of the world, and next thing you know we’re acting like nothing on the other side of the Atlantic can affect us, that of course Britney Spears is the most important thing on the news, and that everyone should speak English.

Fortunately there’s a cure – leave for awhile! The world is getting flatter, like it or not, and there’s no better way to appreciate that than to see it with your own eyes. See the sights, study the language, try to explain exactly how Bush got elected... it’s an education about the US as well as about the other country.

That’s what I was doing from early October to early November last year, and here on the walls is a brief glimpse of Spain, where I spent most of that time. These photos can’t do it justice; you’ll have to go yourself.
